ARMY COMMENCES MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING FOR BANDIPORA YOUTH

Army camp Paribal Tekri started a Martial Arts Training Camp today at Mehboob-Ul-Alam High  School, Kulus.  The Camp was inaugurated by the  Commander Watlab Sector.

            The Martial Arts Training Camp will be conducted for a duration of one month and the training faculty comprises of six instructors from Ali Sports Academy. The Camp has been envisioned to provide training in various Martial Arts, motivate the youth to follow a healthy lifestyle and to guide them towards mainstream. Around 150 youth will be attending the Camp.

                        Alongwith other events during the inauguration, a skit was also presented by the students conveying ill-effects of drugs and promoting sports. Ms Rabia Ahmed, National Gold Medalist in Kickboxing was also presented with martial arts kit by the Chief Guest to assist in her preparations for upcoming International Championship. Jubilant with the starting of the Camp, Ms Rabia Ahmed said, “ This is the first time such a camp is being conducted in this part of Bandipora and I am sure it will provide a firm sports base to the budding youth”.  Ms Rabia will also be participating in kickboxing event in Argentina, later this year.

            During the event, the Chief Guest also motivated the students to pursue the path of peace through sports and good health. The Teachers, parents & children were gratified to Army for conducting such a motivational Camp in their area. The event concluded with the Chief Guest’s interaction with the participants over tea and refreshments.
