Alejandro Moreno: Van Dijk doesn’t solve Liverpool’s issues

Thomas Lemar blow
09:10: Liverpool could miss out to Atletico Madrid in the race to sign Thomas Lemar if Barcelona sign Antoine Griezmann.
That’s according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who says Diego Simeone is lining up the Monaco ace to replace his compatriot.
Lemar is one of Europe’s hottest properties and Liverpool want him to take Philippe Coutinho’s place at Anfield.
Atletico are eyeing him up too though and that means Barcelona could pile further misery on the Reds if they land Griezmann.
Swansea vs Liverpool prediction
08:05: Liverpool will beat Swansea 2-0 on Monday night, according to Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson.
“Swansea have done alright recently under Carlos Carvalhal,” he said.
“I was shocked when he got the job, and he was probably shocked himself. But he’s done what he had to do so far.
“He got a good result at Newcastle, where they couldn’t lose, and then they beat Wolves in the FA Cup.
“When clubs change managers, all they ask for is a reaction, that’s why they change them. He’s achieved that so far.
“This is another hard game, and I can’t see anything but a Liverpool win. But I think Swansea will improve as the season goes on.”
That’s the verdict of ex-footballer and ESPN FC pundit Alejandro Moreno.
“No, no no [it won’t happen],” he said.
“He said he doesn’t want to go, so I don’t know where the rumours are coming from.
“I would tell you that he’s fine in Milan, I think he wants to stay there, he’s playing well there.
“His last experience at Liverpool was not all that positive.”
Alexis Sanchez claim
“I think it’s a sensational deal for Manchester United,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“I would have thought maybe a month ago Alexis Sanchez wouldn’t have come on the radar.
“All of a sudden, every now and again there comes a signing that you have to make, or if he’s available you have to try and make.
“And I think Sanchez, because I think of the form of Liverpool in particular, I think it’s maybe hurried up the need for someone to come in and not secure United’s second place but actually give them a massive, massive boost.
“I think United will finish in the top four and in second place but the form of Liverpool must be a worry because they’re playing unbelievable at this moment in time.”
